After trading in Louboutin pumps for a quiet life raising five kids, Kim Alexis is out talking about the business behind being a supermodel.
Alexis, a famous covergirl of the '80's, stars in the new HBO documentary "About Face: Supermodels Then and Now."
"Modeling is a lonely business," she said Wednesday on Fox and Friends. "[It's] a silent business. You don't speak. You don't really portray anything but an image...the business is so superfluous about dealing with the outside, it messes with your mind."
Alexis also admits to being placed in questionable shoots in the name of "art."
"You're in a small room with a couple of people who think it's art to take your clothes off. You have to stand there and say no, thinking 'these people are going to be mad at me.' You don't realize that what you're doing...could possibly have ramifications for years and years to come," Alexis said.
But she always handled the tough situations well.
