"I never let myself get desperate," she said. "My son said 'thank you for never doing nudes because I would have had to hear it from [someone else].'"

Alexis believes the modeling business has evolved past the era of the supermodel.

"A supermodel needed to be able to be on Sports Illustrated, to be able to walk runways, to be able to do beauty ads, to be on covers," she said. "And the girls now can no longer be on covers and and be in the ads because your actresses have taken over all the jobs. I don't know what happened, but we want our jobs back."

When this supermodel left the biz, she had few regrets.

"I'm happy going home early and working out and just being a mother and being a wife," she said. "What made Kim more happy was family."

Alexis now has five children and lives with her husband Ron Dugay, a former NHL hockey player. She said that both her and her husband will be supporting Mitt Romney in the upcoming presidential election.
